The following suggested tightening torques provide an excellent starting point for determining torque requirements.
Remember, you may need to increase or reduce these numbers based on the individual joint.

This table is offered as the suggested maximum torquing values for threaded products and is only a guide. Actual tests were conducted on dry or near-dry products. Mating parts were wiped clean of chips and foreign matter. A lubricated bolt requires less torque to attain the same clamping force as a nonlubricated bolt. All values shown on chart except for nylon represent a safe working torque; in the case of nylon only, the fi gures represent breaking torque.
